Arrival by air

There are several ways of reaching the GMI from Vienna International Airport.

By city train (S-Bahn)

Take the city train S7 (direction Wien City) to Sankt Marx-Vienna Biocenter. Trains depart from the airport at 18 and 48 minutes past the hour every hour from 9:18 am. For the times of earlier trains, please consult the S7 timetable. Tickets cost €4.00 and can be bought from a ticket machine in the train station. The journey takes about 20 minutes. Tickets can be bought online. 24 h, 48 h, 72 h and weekly tickets are also available.

By City Airport Train (CAT)

Take the CAT non-stop to Wien Mitte. Trains depart from the airport at 5 and 35 minutes past every hour. Tickets cost €11 from ticket machines on the platform or €13 on the train (change is given). The journey takes 16 minutes. From Wien Mitte, take the bus 74A (direction Sankt Marx) - bus stop is on Landstrasser Hauptstrasse on the opposite side of the road to the train station - to Sankt Marx. Tickets cost €2.40 if bought from the driver (has limited change) or €2.00 from ticket machines in Wien Mitte (change is given). Tickets can be bought online.

By bus

Take the Vienna Airport Lines bus to Südbahnhof. Buses depart from the airport every 30 minutes on the hour and half-hour. Tickets cost €8 and can be bought from the driver (change is given). From Südbahnhof, take tram 18 (direction Schlachthausgasse) to Sankt Marx. Tickets cost €2.40 and can be bought from a ticket machine in the tram (change is given) or €2.00 from ticket machines in Südbahnhof (change is given).

By taxi

Taxis can be taken from the airport to the GMI. The journey takes about 20 minutes and costs around €25.
