Arrival by train

The GMI can easily be reached from Vienna's two main train stations, Westbahnhof and Südbahnhof.

From Westbahnhof

Take the underground line U3 (direction Simmering) to Schlachthausgasse, then take tram 18 to Sankt Marx. Tickets for the underground (which can also be used on the tram) have to be bought at a ticket machine in the underground station (change is given) and validated before entering the train. Tickets cost €2.00 and are valid for your entire journey even if you switch between different forms of public transport. The journey takes about 30 minutes.

From Südbahnhof (currently under construction)

Take tram 18 (direction Schlachthausgasse) to stop Sankt Marx. Tram tickets can be bought in the tram from a machine near the driver for €2.40 or from the ticket machines in the train station for €2.00 (change is given) and are valid for your entire journey even if you switch between different forms of public transport. The journey takes about 10 minutes.
